Flatlay and Detail Guide
What’s Flatlays?
Flatlay photography is a style of photographing objects arranged on a flat surface, captured from a bird’s-eye view. This technique is often used to create visually appealing and well-organized images of items, highlighting their textures, colors, and details.
Do I need Flatlays?
Flatlays help tell the story of the wedding day by highlighting personal touches and elements that are important to the bride and groom. They can visually narrate the preparation and thought that went into the wedding.
How Long Will These Take?
If your items are all in one place I would need 30-120 minutes to capture all the details. Depending on the complexity and amount of items to photograph. Ideally, we want at least 60 minutes for Details and Getting Ready part of the day.
Keep these items with the Bride
Keep all the rings in one place. (Engagement, Both wedding bands)
Consider a ring box that’s either custom or in one of your wedding colors.
Have a ribbon around your Bridal Bouquet? Ask your florist to include 10 extra inches of that ribbon with your order.
Ask your florist to give you any loose flowers. Those will be used in flatlays.
Bracelets, earrings, any additional jewelry
Your invitations, envelopes, stamps *if special, stationery.
Fruits like lemons, grapefruits, grapes, and others can be used if they go with your wedding theme
Any additional special items
