Let’s tell your love story in the most genuine way…

  • The Vision

It all begins with an overall vision. What makes you comfortable as a couple and what feels like the most genuine approach? What do you enjoy doing together? This is possibly the most important part of the preparation for your Engagement Photography session.

Here are some common ideas, but try to keep it unique to your love story:

    • Beach session, chasing the waves and going for a nice summer swim.

    • Nature. Woods or fields. Perfect for a walk with your fur baby. Picking flowers, Chasing each other through tall grass and possibly climbing trees if you are feeling adventurous.

    • City session. Enjoy walking the streets casually just to keep these everyday moments alive for lifetime. Get some coffee or a fancy drink at your favorite place and simply enjoy your day forever.

    • Hobby Engagement Session. Do you rolloscate, surf or possibly enjoy a local library together? Let’s dive into the things you enjoy the most together.

    • Favorite places, historical buildings, or spectacular views. These sessions often come with permits and often need at least 90 days to arrange. They are also so worth it!

  • Preparation

From styling to props we will start to refine your vision. We will start with an overall style from casual to ethereal there is no right or wrong..

    COLORS, PATTERNS AND TEXTURES

We will then discuss colors, patterns and textures. General rule is to avoid too many colors, small patterns, busy graphics and large logos.

Try to choose 2 or 3 coordinated colors. They don't have to match but the should complement each other.

You may also play with textures. Warm and soft cashmere for example goes well with satin textures. Satin and

velvet in general photograph beautifully and add dimension.

    CUT AND FIT

Avoid things that hug you in the areas that you don’t want to accentuate. A very basic rule to follow that complements most body shapes is to find pieces that are fit perfectly around your upper body and that are a bit looser around your hips.

Avoid higher than natural or lower than natural waist line if unsure.

    COLOR STORY

Consider the surroundings and think of the story you would like to deliver. Do you want to stand out or to blend in? Choosing a red flowy, large dress against natural greens of the trees is delivering very different message than a soft, neutral color against the same background for example.

    LIGHT OR DARK?

In general my photography style thrives with brighter and lighter colors. Black doesn’t reflect much light so I would completely avoid it if you want to stand out against busy backgrounds.

  • Final Touches

    DETAILS MATTER

Consider props. Hats, sunglasses, picnic baskets, flowers and even pets are welcome! They make sessions more fun and organic. They give you things to hold and interact with.

Commonly overlooked are nails! For her and for him!

Hands tell stories and we will be taking closeups of your hands.
